      1. How long have you been in truck sales?

I have been in truck sales for over two years.

      1. Have you always been in sales? Other professions?

I have been in the car and truck industry for about 13 years, mostly assisting with multiple departments all the way up to management.

      1. What do you like about working in sales?

I love working in the commercial side of the truck business. I have worked for the retail side of the market, and would never go back to it. I enjoy driving the trucks to visit different businesses and customers that are looking to purchase our vehicles.

      1. What is your role here at Tom’s?

I am a salesman in the used truck department.

      1. How long have you been at Tom’s?

I have been at Tom’s for over five years; different positions throughout.

      1. What do you like best about working at Tom’s? Best perk?

There are so many departments that you can grow into, and opportunities to dive into different sides of the industry. The best perk would definitely be driving the new and used trucks — love it!

      1. Sales goals that you have reached?

I keep the same sales goal ever year, and that is to best my previous year in sales.

      1. What is the best advice someone has given you for succeeding in this industry?

It sometimes takes ten “no’s” to get that one “yes,” so don’t be afraid of getting “no’s.”

      1. What is one important skill that you have acquired at Tom’s?

Treat a customer how you want to be treated, especially if you are spending upwards of six figures on a truck. One purchase can turn into three down the road based on how you treated that particular customer or business.

      1. What piece of technology could not work without?

I hate to say it but my cell phone. They are everything to us now, phone book, calendar, email, and most importantly a phone to get ahold of buyers.

Life Related

      1. Favorite hobbies or activities?

I have been getting into fitness and working out to help lose some weight.

      1. How would you spend $1 million?

I would move to Oregon, buy a house with a large backyard, put money aside for my kid’s college tuition, and a small vacation. If I have any left over, I would buy back my dream Ford Mustang.

      1. Favorite sports teams?

Raiders, Lakers, Ducks, Angels, and America soccer team.

      1. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would live anywhere that allows me to have a giant backyard, and not see a neighbor for miles.

      1. What is the best vacation you have ever taken?

I took a trip to my hometown in Mexico, and saw some family members I haven’t seen in over 20 years.

      1. If you could host a talk show, who would be your first guest?

The Pope.

      1. What would you do with “15 minutes of fame”?

15 minutes isn’t enough time to fix what is wrong in California, let alone the world.

      1. If you could stay a certain age forever, which age and why?

I would have stayed 21, because I had the opportunity to become one of the original owners of Flame Broiler Restaurant. I, unfortunately, turned down that chance due to the huge initial investment. If I had taken that chance, I would be a millionaire by now!

      1. If you had $1,000 to spend at one store, which store would you pick?

I would spend it all at Costco on diapers, wipes, and formula for my newborn baby girl. Then coffee for myself so I can keep up with my new daughter.

      1. Any funny sales stories?

No story in particular, but I find it funny when I tell a customer that more than one person is interested in a particular unit and they think it is just an old sales trick. But when they call back looking to pull the trigger on a purchase, the unit has been sold.

      1. Worst pet peeve?

When people ignore you, just give me a yes or a no. If it is a yes, then tell me when you will be ready, but if it’s a no then say “thank you very much for the opportunity, and have a great day!”
