Work Related:
- How long have you been working at Tom’s and what is your role here?
A: I have been working at Tom’s for 5 months, in the parts sales department. My main role here is providing exceptional customer service to our customers whom call in or walk in for parts. I primarily answer the incoming calls to our department, listen to the customers needs and begin helping them by searching for the parts needed to make the sale.
- What did you do prior to working for Tom’s Truck Center?
A: I was previously a store manager in the fuel & convenience field for a company named United Pacific. I used to be in charge of managing all aspects of the store(s) assigned to me which at times were multiple, to ensure all operations for example payroll, staffing, inventory, car wash operations, compliances and more were running exceptionally.
- What do you like best about working at Tom’s Truck Center?
A: I love the fact that everyone here from day 1 has treated me as family and helped me throughout my journey without hesitation which has helped me become very comfortable, confident and assisted me to build me up to master this industry.
- What do you like most about working in the parts department specifically?
A: I very much enjoy the thrill and competitive nature of making sales and closing deals to hit high numbers. I enjoy assisting customers with their part needs and finding the right parts to help them get the job done and keep these vehicles on the road safely at its highest form to keep society moving.
- Goals that you have reached with Tom’s?
A: Some goals I have reached here at Tom’s would be learning a lot about the parts industry, as I came into this without any type of parts knowledge. Learning more of the mechanical aspect of light duty and medium duty vehicles and especially making a good living.
- What is the best advice someone has given you for succeeding in this job?
A: By far the best advice I have had, is do not be afraid to ask questions, listen, have confidence take notes and push/hustle to make that sale.
- What is one important skill that you have acquired at Tom’s?
A: One important skill I have learned here at Tom’s is to negotiate.
